Help with a pop music party

Hey guys i have a party coming up this friday that requires me to mix modern Pop music which i have never done before. I have been trying to find other mixes by other dj's so i could see what is getting played and how they are switching the songs but i haven't been able to find any. if you guys could point me to few a few mixes i would really appreciate it.

The other thing the party is not really all pop so i don't really need way to much but atleast 40 minutes of music. I was thinking of mixing songs from these artists.

justin timberlake
christina Aguilera
Pink
Lady Gaga
Nelly furtado
Rihanna
katy perry
pussycat dolls
akon
beyonce
and a few others that are less known but have known singles.

are these artists ok to play and if you guys have any suggestion on what songs i could play or if i should'int play one of these artists. Any other songs from other artists that i should be looking for. Any help would be appreciated.

you should listen to the pop station in your area, and on the internet if possible to see how they are mixing their music. And get as much music as possible, you say its for 40 minutes, well thats about 10-12 songs so its not like you gonna have to play it all. I would still bring some CLEAN hip hop to mix in between and you should be good. Just read your crowd and you will know what to play.

I spun some pop last week when I DJ'd at Snoop's manager's house...I don't even think I had to, but it was the first time I had a majority white crowd, so I just did it for fun. I realized that half it sounds like it could be commercial rap/R&B, especially producers like Polow and Timbo, and the rest still doesn't sound THAT MUCH different from everything else I play. Main difference is that most of it is hella fast...but half the time, you can put Ciara/Beyonce on the same beat as Brittney/Christina and it's on the R&B station.

So yeah...take Amp's advice, and also, look through your library and find the Rap/R&B songs that you always hear on the Pop type of stations and clubs...you'll realize you have more than you think. A lot of songs that I won't play with an all black crowd will definitely work for a Pop crowd.
