anyone got any tips, tuts whatever.....?

i been tryna throw some of these in a few tracks ive done.....
i always got the pattern and when i want them to hit in my head....
but when it comes to laying the shi* down i go blank and cant place the shi right....

i kno work at it and work at it some more....
but just wondering if any yaw got any type of tactics

its like a real drumkit you have a high tom, mid tom, and low tom. Try to use samples from each area and pitch them correctly to the track. A high tom sample wont sound natural if you start at the normal pitch and use the same sample as a low tom.

What do you make your beats with depending on the program its easy to sequence them in midi.

use the midi sequencer/piano roll and pitch the notes. You can sequence triplets easier that way its very hard to play them on a regular keyboard.

Just create an audio track. mock what you hear in your head with your mouth. Then go back over the track recording the midi or live keyboard or mpc toms.
